A fair few Tweets have been flying around recently around the Joomla Core Team's progress on the Joomla 1.6 Alpha release.

It just so happens you can download it now, however there are errors. But it will give those of us who are curious to see what is and isn't working a whirl.

The most notable thing I can note on at the moment is the inclusion of the ACL layer. Meaning, you can now set permissions for individual user groups - in effect User Group A can access Virtuemart, and User Group B cannot.

Very cool stuff, and I will be keeping an eye out on it for future developments.
