Over the last several days since the jwFacebook Comments plugin was released I have received a great deal of support from the Joomla community, and some constructive requests on future additions.
Well this evening I sat down for a few hours and wrote something that will enhance the jwFacebook Comments feed created by the plugin!
After a bit of playing around with Joomla and the Facebook Connect API I have successfully integrated the Facebook Commenting system into the Article view!
What this means is your visitors will not need to signup to your site to post a comment, you are saving bandwidth (using Facebook's bandwidth instead), and it vastly increases the patronage possibilities for your sites!
I am releasing it for FREE, however please do take note of the donation box in the top left-ish area. It is there for the honest souls who find this useful and can spare upwards of $5 to show their appreciation.
jwCompactor allows you as the website creator to compact several modules into a single module position. Then with the power of jQuery and some creative animation your modules can be transitioned quick and easily.
Best of all, your hidden modules are hidden using Javascript and are still indexed by search engines, but also still allow you to interact with them as normal!
This version is the Free Release version and as such you will require ionCube to run it. However, if you wish to use this module commercially, or modify the code for your own individual implementation then an unencoded, clean source version is available in the jWarlock Code Shop.
A demo is available to see at http://www.adammchugh.com and also on the jWarlock.com website! Documentation is coming very shortly to explain it's usage.
mod_serverload will display the average % CPU utilization for the last 15 minutes.
This module would be particularly useful for larger sites where moderators and administrators would like to know if their site is becoming too slow due to CPU use or other factors (like mySQL or Disk Access).
The module's installation XML is built for Joomla 1.0, however it will work in 1.5 Native. To install on Joomla 1.5 please follow these directions:
Activate Joomla 1.5 Legacy Mode\n Install the mod_serverload.zip file using Install Manager
Once installed, set your Legacy mode back to Unpublished (Or leave it on if you would rather do that).
This module should work Native in all Joomla versions!
Joomla 1.5 now supports OpenID registration and login for your visitors as well as Administrators. But something that is missing from Joomla 1.5 is an attractive OpenID login box! With this Native 1.5 plugin you will be able to install an attractive OpenID login box anywhere you can place a module. So start increasing your site's registrations with this awesome new addition. (This module has been built using Joomla 1.5.3 as the base).
